Ultimately, I need to be in mp4, but I don't mind doing some container shuffling to allow me to trim out portions while still encoding. How can I go about trimming this file while it's still encoding? I am willing to change container formats from flv to something else if needed.

When you are preparing to convert FLV files to MP4, simply drag and drop FLV file(s) to the program or go to 'Add Files' option on the main menu to browse through for your videos to import. Install iSkysoft on your Mac or Windows computer. While the video is still encoding, I see this error when I try to trim: Output file is empty, nothing was encoded (check -ss / -t / -frames parameters if used)Īlso while encoding, using ffprobe, I get information like the following: Duration: 00:00:26.96, start: 0.080000, bitrate: 126 kb/s Step-by-step Guide for Converting FLV to MP4 using iSkysoft Step 1. MPEG2,MP4,MKV,WEBM Cutter for Linux using MPV and libavcodec or ffmpeg. I am encoding the video like so: ffmpeg -i recording.mp4 -c libx264 output.flvĪnd I'm attempting to trim the video with: ffmpeg -i output.flv -ss 00:00:00.000 -t 00:00:01.000 -c copy output2.mp4 FFmpeg 5. The video format can be MP4, AVI, FLV, MPG, MKV, WMV, M2TS, WEBM, ASF, MOV. Further information is available in the libvpx API documentation. To get more documentation of the libvpx options, invoke the command ffmpeg -h encoderlibvpx, ffmpeg -h encoderlibvpx-vp9 or vpxenc -help. I would like to be able to trim segments of this video out as it is still encoding. For the documentation of the undocumented generic options, see the Codec Options chapter. I am encoding a video with ffmpeg into H.264 stored in an FLV container.
